Job Description


As a Security Professional - Armed Patrol Government Facility in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols and remain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents within a government location. This role involves monitoring assigned areas, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service and communication. You will play a key part in promoting a secure environment while upholding Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. This is an armed post, requiring a commitment to integrity and a caring, people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Perform regular and random patrols, both inside and around the perimeter of the location, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Carry a firearm as part of assigned duties in accordance with Allied Universal and client expectations, adhering to all relevant protocols and regulations.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, maintaining a professional presence during all interactions.
  • Document observations, occurrences, and security-related incidents according to company and client requirements.
  • Work closely with local authorities and government staff to support a secure environment while maintaining courteous and professional interactions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
