Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Tech Sector in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control professional in a dynamic tech-focused location, you will monitor entrances, manage badge access, and conduct security-related patrols to help deter incidents and create a welcoming environment for everyone. You will remain visible throughout the site, respond to alarm panels, and provide excellent customer service with every interaction. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and manage access control systems to help to deter unauthorized entry into designated areas within the tech and media environment.
  • Verify credentials and provide assistance to authorized personnel and visitors, maintaining records of entries and exits as required by site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and guiding individuals to appropriate areas within the location.
  • Respond promptly and calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established protocols and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and its perimeter to help to deter security-related concerns and report any unusual activity.
  • Collaborate with site management and Allied Universal team members to support security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and interactions in accordance with Allied Universal and client procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
