Job Description


As a Security Officer - Mall Customer Service Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Officer at a prominent retail location, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols and staying highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of staff, visitors, and shoppers.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter theft and unauthorized access.
  • Report all security-related incidents and observations according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Assist with access control processes, including verifying identification as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to customers and employees.
  • Collaborate with store management and Allied Universal supervisors to communicate concerns and support a welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
