Job Description


As a Security Officer - TWIC Access Control in CHANNAHON , IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control professional with Allied Universal, you will support a chemical and petrochemical environment by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help maintain a secure atmosphere. Your role involves managing access points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service while using technology such as computers or tablets. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access at designated entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas within the chemical or petrochemical location.
  • Verify credentials and identification of employees, visitors, and contractors to maintain site-specific protocols related to access control.
  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations related to access control in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established procedures for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entry points, key facilities, and the perimeter to observe for potential security-related concerns or suspicious activities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs or reports of all access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site policies.
  • Collaborate with site management, emergency responders, and Allied Universal supervisors as needed during incidents and/or drills.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including assisting with evacuations or lockdown procedures according to site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • Experience with computers or tablets is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
