Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Driver - Government in Laurinburg, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment at a government location. Your duties will include conducting routine patrols, maintaining visibility to help deter unwanted activity, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. This is an armed and driving post, where you will demonstrate our company values of agility, reliability, and integrity while working as part of a caring and innovative team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity or access.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas within the grounds to help to deter and report suspicious behavior or breaches of protocol.
  • Complete required reports and documentation for all incidents, observations, and activities during the shift.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency personnel as needed in response to incidents and emergencies.
  • Adhere to all company and client protocols regarding the handling and carrying of firearms while on duty.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter disruptive behavior and promote order.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
