Job Description


As a Security Professional – Armed Campus Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring presence at a prominent education location. Your role involves routine patrols across the premises, maintaining high visibility to support a secure environment while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. This armed position allows you to play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, helping to diffuse and/or address situations as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and around the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor for any suspicious behavior or activities and report findings according to established protocols.
  • Interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors to help to maintain a secure environment on the premises.
  • Assist with access control, verifying credentials and granting entry as required by site procedures.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities during the shift in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Support emergency response efforts by coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Possess a Level III armed certification if required by Texas law.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
