Job Description


As a Security Officer - Residential Unarmed Patrol NYC in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned residential and shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a highly visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols throughout the property, assist with access control, and interact with residents and visitors to provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the well-being of clients, residents, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned residential or shelter location, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any irregularities or incidents, escalating issues to supervisors or emergency responders as needed.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain awareness of individuals within the location.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate daily activity reports and incident logs as required by Allied Universal and client site protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, visitors, and staff, providing assistance or information as needed while upholding Allied Universal standards.
  • Support site-specific procedures, including visitor management, access control, and adherence to location policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with X-ray screening is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
