Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Command in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will actively monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and foster a secure environment. You will remain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, and interact with visitors and staff to provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies while providing excellent customer service to all individuals at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate emergency response protocols as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related incidents.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other areas of the property to help to deter unauthorized access and suspicious activity.
  • Communicate and collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required for incident response or escalating situations.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Remain visible and approachable to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide assistance when needed to staff, visitors, and members of the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
