As a Security Officer - Shelter Patrol Team in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a strong presence throughout the shelter location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring assigned areas, interacting with staff and visitors, and providing outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, residents, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergency situations within the shelter environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building and around the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel in accordance with Allied Universal policies.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Document incidents, observations, and daily activities in detailed reports as required by site policies.
  • Support shelter staff and residents by serving as a visible security-related presence and providing assistance as needed.
  • Remain alert and attentive at all times to help to deter disturbances, hazards, or unauthorized activities within the shelter location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
