Job Description


As a Security Officer - Educational Patrol Rounds in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned educational facilities, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, and you will engage with staff, students, and visitors to provide excellent customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or security-related hazards encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control at entry and exit points, verifying credentials as required.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and/or site leadership regarding security-related incidents or concerns.
  • Support enforcement of site rules and regulations in accordance with client policies.
  • Document and submit detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Being at least 21 years of age is required.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
