As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Niskayuna, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and unauthorized access. Your presence will support a secure environment for personnel and property while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. This driving position requires you to respond to situations promptly and act as a visible representative of Allied Universal’s values—agility, reliability, and innovation—while contributing to a collaborative and people-first culture built on integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the manufacturing and industrial site, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and visitors.
  • Observe and report any security-related irregularities, such as suspicious individuals, hazards, or unusual activity within the location.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures when performing access control duties.
  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by addressing questions or concerns related to access control and site navigation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, involving emergency response activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of visitor and contractor access, as well as any incidents or irregularities observed during the shift.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas of the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or security-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site representatives to maintain a secure and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • A minimum of two years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or a college degree is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of five years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
