As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol in Piscataway, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer, you will patrol retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. In this unarmed role, you will interact with customers and staff, providing exceptional service and clear communication. You will monitor assigned areas, assist with access control, and respond to situations as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergencies when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations within the retail location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail environment and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual circumstances to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain a visible presence within the retail location to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted activity.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits and verifying credentials as required by site-specific policies.
• Support emergency response protocols and provide assistance to guests and staff as needed during incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
