Job Description


As a Security Officer – Hospital Patrol Watcher in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help create a welcoming atmosphere while you respond to incidents, assist with security-related concerns, and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, patients, and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including during emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, unusual situations, or security-related issues encountered during patrols.
  • Work collaboratively with facility management and Allied Universal team members to address security-related needs and maintain a visible presence within the location.
  • Follow instructions and post orders specific to the healthcare site to help to deter prohibited activity and maintain a welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccination is required for hospital assignments.
  • Working in hospital morgue areas is required.
  • Ability to restrain individuals in hospital settings is required.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
