As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Unarmed PT in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within an education-focused location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for students, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible, and delivering outstanding customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the educational environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate authorities and/or site management.
  • Assist students, staff, and visitors with directions and security-related information as requested.
  • Support access control protocols by monitoring entrances and exits and verifying credentials as required.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members to maintain a visible presence and help to deter potential security-related threats within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
