As a Security Guard - Government Site - Part Time in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, providing exceptional customer service, and communicating with those on-site to support a secure and welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, in accordance with company and client protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or property damage encountered during patrols.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with Allied Universal management, site personnel, and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Complete required reports and documentation regarding incidents, patrols, and other activities during the shift.
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal and the location regarding access control, visitor management, and emergency response procedures.
  • Assist with crowd management and access control during peak times or events, as directed by site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
