Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Certified in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain order. Your visible presence and professional demeanor will help foster a secure environment for all. This role provides an opportunity to interact with the public, address security-related concerns, and deliver outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate protocols for an armed position.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout designated areas and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity or incidents.
  • Monitor for any suspicious activity or security-related concerns within the location and report findings according to established procedures.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and/or contractors by providing information and guidance while maintaining security-related protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency responders as required by the situation and post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol activities, and other security-related matters as directed by Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
