Job Description


As a Security Officer – Armed Government Patrol Driver in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will perform routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors. This role requires carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as part of your daily responsibilities. You will remain highly visible, interact professionally with the public, and provide outstanding customer service while utilizing technology to support your duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at government locations by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Maintain awareness of the environment and report any security-related concerns or unusual situations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and/or contractors with directions or information as needed while maintaining a visible and approachable presence.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner as directed by Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Armed Guard Card or License is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
