As a Security Professional - Unarmed Flex Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic tech-focused location. Your role involves conducting routine security-related patrols, remaining visible to help to deter incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service. You will also assist with access control and respond promptly to any incidents or requests for assistance. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with security-related needs as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the technology and media location, including business areas and the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities or conditions encountered during patrols throughout the premises.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and local staff to address security-related concerns specific to a technology and telecom environment.
  • Complete required reports and logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
