Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter potential security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for those on site. This role requires carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as part of your daily responsibilities. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding to situations as needed, and engaging in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare facility and perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity and assisting with access control.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and interactions in accordance with company protocols.
  • Assist healthcare staff, patients, and visitors by providing information and support as needed while maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential issues.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when situations arise at the location.
  • Maintain knowledge of post orders, site-specific protocols, and emergency procedures relevant to the healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
