Job Description


As a Security Professional - Armed Government Facility in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents at a dynamic government location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining high visibility, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to those on site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter, observing for unusual activity or potential threats.
  • Assist in helping to deter criminal activity and/or policy violations through a visible security-related presence.
  • Monitor access points and verify the credentials of individuals entering restricted areas.
  • Promptly report and document any security-related incidents or suspicious activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness while on patrol and/or stationed at assigned posts.
  • Support law enforcement and/or emergency responders as directed during incidents at the location.
  • Maintain professional communication with staff, visitors, and the public while representing Allied Universal.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
