Job Description


As a Security Guard - Healthcare Facility Patrol Driver in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help foster a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents and promote peace of mind throughout the location. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license in the state where you work. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication, all while embodying our values of reliability, innovation, and integrity, and contributing to a caring, team-oriented culture that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain an orderly environment within the healthcare location.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and security-related concerns according to Allied Universal procedures.
  • Assist staff, patients, and visitors with directions and general information as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel during incidents as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
