Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Residential Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Patrol Armed Officer, where you'll play a key role in maintaining a secure environment for a residential community. In this visible and active post, you will conduct regular patrols throughout the location, help to deter security-related incidents, and respond promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed and driving position, giving you the opportunity to utilize your expertise and training. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the residential community and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity within the location.
  • Monitor access points and verify the identity of individuals entering or exiting the residential premises.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and incident reports as directed by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Assist residents and guests with inquiries or concerns while maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military roles is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton training or experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
