Job Description


As a Security Officer - Tech Media Patrol in Aurora, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading technology-focused location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your visible presence and routine patrols help to deter unwanted incidents, while your attention to detail and customer service mindset support a positive atmosphere for all on site. In this dynamic setting, you will interact with employees and visitors, assist with access control, and respond to security-related situations as they arise. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence within the location, monitoring for suspicious activity and promptly reporting any security-related incidents.
  • Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities according to company and client requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and site personnel to support a secure environment within the technology, media, and telecom setting.
  • Follow all Allied Universal guidelines, policies, and training requirements while performing assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
