Job Description


As a Security Officer - Retail Access Control in Spokane, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a retail environment, you will monitor entrances, manage badge access, and help to deter security-related incidents through routine patrols and a visible presence. You will engage with customers and staff, providing excellent service and clear communication while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. What You'll Do:

  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals at the retail location.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries and assisting visitors and staff in a professional manner.
  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and surrounding perimeter as required.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or unusual situations according to site procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal personnel and client staff to maintain a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience with computers or tablets is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
