Job Description


As a Security Guard - Retail Loss Prevention Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a high-traffic retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and promote a secure atmosphere for guests and staff. You will conduct regular patrols, stay visible throughout the property, and provide outstanding customer service while communicating clearly and professionally. By fostering a welcoming environment and responding promptly to situations, you will play a key part in creating a positive experience for everyone on site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors at the retail location by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the retail environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the store and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe for any unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with store management and staff when addressing incidents or assisting with customer inquiries related to security-related matters.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client site protocols.
  • Remain visible and approachable to provide assistance and help to deter potential disruptions within the retail location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
