As a Security Officer - Flex Patrol Tech Site in Edgewood, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a dynamic tech and media environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you conduct routine patrols and provide exceptional customer service to all individuals on site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, responding to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor the location for unusual activity and report any security-related concerns or hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials of individuals entering specified areas.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, or other activities as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Support security-related operations and/or emergency response drills as directed by site management or Allied Universal supervisors.
  • Provide information and assistance to employees, visitors, and/or vendors as needed, maintaining a professional and helpful attitude at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Being at least 21 years of age is preferred.
  • Holding a CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Possessing a Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Having customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
