As a Security Officer - Flex Access Control in Whitakers, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the facility. What You'll Do:

  • Perform access control duties, monitoring and authorizing entry to designated areas within the manufacturing and industrial location, following site-specific procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with access-related questions and concerns.
  • Respond to security-related incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the site and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report any irregularities, security-related incidents, or violations of site policies to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
  • Assist in emergency response activities as needed, following site guidelines and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of access control activities, visitor logs, and incident reports as required by the site.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to address concerns and maintain a professional presence at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience working at limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
