Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Education in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct regular patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond promptly to any situations that arise. This post requires carrying a firearm and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate protocols for armed security-related posts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and surrounding perimeter to help to deter potential threats and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas within the educational location to help to deter unauthorized access or disruptive behavior.
  • Assist with controlling access to the location, verifying credentials, and reporting any suspicious activities or security-related incidents.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including evacuations and/or lockdowns, as directed by site procedures and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Document observations and incidents in daily activity reports, maintaining clear and accurate records as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
