Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Patrol - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Security Officer in a government location, you will be responsible for unarmed patrols and monitoring assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. Your presence will help provide a secure environment for all individuals on site. You will interact professionally with staff and visitors, respond to incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while upholding the values of Allied Universal. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or hazards; working environments and conditions may vary.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or violations of site policies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptions and/or unauthorized entry.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all individuals encountered during the course of duty, including providing directions or information as needed.
  • Document incidents and daily activities according to Allied Universal procedures and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
