As a Security Officer - Access Control Logistics in Lansing, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal team member in an access control role within a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, check badges, and help to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a visible presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols of assigned areas and interacting with visitors and staff to provide outstanding customer service. Using technology such as computers or tablets, you will support access management processes and contribute to a welcoming and secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and manage access control points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the logistics and distribution location.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering and/or exiting the premises as per site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, drivers, and staff with questions related to entry procedures and protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal guidelines and site-specific protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and report any irregularities.
  • Document all access control activities, incidents, and observations in daily reports as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and/or law enforcement when appropriate, especially during emergency response situations.
  • Support the implementation of emergency response procedures and evacuations as directed by site management and Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR or first aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
