Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Telecom Facility Patrol in Crystal City, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a dynamic tech and media setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment. Your visible presence and routine patrols will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, with attention to areas relevant to technology, media, and telecommunications operations.
  • Observe for unusual activity or conditions that may require security-related intervention, and promptly report situations to Allied Universal management and/or appropriate personnel.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity by maintaining a visible presence during patrols and interactions with employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Support site-specific access control procedures to help manage entry and exit points in accordance with location protocols.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate logs and/or reports related to patrols, incidents, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and the client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least two years of security-related experience is required.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
