As a Security Officer - Access Control and Patrol in READING , PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, operate access control systems, and respond to alarm panels, all while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Control access to the chemical and petrochemical location by verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
  • Monitor entry points and maintain logs of all visitors, contractors, and employees as part of security-related procedures.
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and report any irregularities.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or property damage to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
  • Assist with the implementation of site emergency procedures, including evacuation or lockdown protocols as required.
  • Maintain a visible security-related presence to help to deter unauthorized or inappropriate behavior within the chemical and petrochemical environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with access control systems and/or badge operations is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
