As a Security Officer - Aero/Defense Access Control in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer in an aerospace and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for all personnel and assets. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
• Monitor and manage access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain authorized personnel flow in a secure location related to aerospace and defense operations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions.
• Document and report security-related incidents and observations according to company and client protocols.
• Communicate clearly with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid security-related guard card or license is preferred.
• Current CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
