Job Description


As a Security Officer – Healthcare Patrol Entry in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a valued team member with Allied Universal, you will help to create a secure environment at a prominent healthcare location by monitoring and patrolling designated areas. Your role will focus on maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents, while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. You may interact with visitors and staff, assist with access control, and respond to situations as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a professional atmosphere at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas for suspicious activity and report observations according to established protocols.
  • Support Allied Universal and client staff by assisting with directions, answering questions, and providing general assistance as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management and client representatives regarding incidents, hazards, and other relevant matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must meet hospital-specific requirements, which may include vaccination mandates and working in sensitive areas such as the morgue.
  • Must be able to safely restrain individuals in a hospital environment as needed.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
