As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Driver in Joliet, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and monitor assigned areas within a chemical and petrochemical location. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, managing access points, and maintaining a visible presence to support a secure environment. You will interact with visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service and communication while utilizing technology to support your responsibilities. Pay Rate: $20.01 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Manage access control points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the location, following site-specific procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor and document individuals entering or exiting the property, verifying identification and credentials as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, according to established protocols and emergency response activities.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by communicating professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the perimeter and designated areas of the property to observe and report any security-related concerns.
  • Observe for unusual or suspicious behavior and report findings to Allied Universal and client representatives as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs and/or reports of daily activities, incidents, and any security-related occurrences.
  • Follow all site-specific policies and procedures to support security-related operations within a chemical and petrochemical environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
