Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Patrol Driver in New Britain, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government-related locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for those in the area. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and interact with the public to offer outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a company or client vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity or situations.
  • Observe and report security-related matters as required by site protocols and Allied Universal procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel and law enforcement as needed to address security-related concerns.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs of patrols, incidents, and other relevant security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
