What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols, both inside the healthcare facility and around its perimeter, to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and observe for any suspicious activity to help to deter unauthorized entry or disruptions.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences encountered during patrols.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement as needed during emergencies or incidents.
  • Remain alert and attentive while carrying a firearm in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal procedures.
  • Assist with the enforcement of hospital policies regarding visitors, parking, and restricted areas to help to deter potential disruptions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • Possess a valid New Jersey Retired Police Officer certificate.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
