As a Security Officer - Tech/Media Patrol Flex in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment within a dynamic tech and media location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, staying visible throughout the site, and delivering outstanding customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the overall security-related needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and maintain a visible presence.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control and visitor management as required by site protocols.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site contacts to address situations in a professional manner.
  • Document and report all incidents, maintenance issues, and/or security-related hazards encountered during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A valid Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 plus years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
