Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Driver in Edinburgh, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining visible throughout the area, and delivering outstanding customer service and communication. This role requires both carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle, offering a dynamic professional environment where you are empowered to respond to situations as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity and helping to deter potential issues.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises to help maintain authorized access.
  • Report and document security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client protocols.
  • Work closely with other security professionals and site personnel to help maintain a secure environment at the government location.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies or incidents as required by site-specific protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
