Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Government Patrol Driver in Edinburgh, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and remaining highly visible throughout a government location. This role includes armed responsibilities and driving as part of your daily duties. You will engage with the community, provide outstanding customer service, and contribute to a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support site order.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols inside the premises and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and offer assistance to personnel and visitors as appropriate.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity or security-related breaches in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
  • Communicate promptly with law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when required, following established procedures for armed security roles.
  • Complete required documentation and reports related to incidents, patrols, and daily activities as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Concealed Carry Weapons Permit is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
