Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Operations in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you will monitor and patrol government locations to help foster a secure environment. You will conduct regular patrols, maintain a strong presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following guidelines for armed posts in government locations.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and maintain a visible presence.
  • Complete detailed reports on all incidents, observations, and/or activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client site policies.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verifying credentials and authorizations as required by location-specific protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as necessary, following protocols established for government environments.
  • Remain alert to potential security-related threats and risks, promptly reporting unusual conditions and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Maintain proper care, control, and awareness of issued firearms and other equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must possess an active armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
