Job Description


As a Security Guard - Government Patrol Driver Role in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a government location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and remaining highly visible throughout your assigned area. This position is primarily driving, offering the opportunity to engage with various environments as you respond to incidents and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the designated location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor the environment for unusual or suspicious activity and report findings promptly to the appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors while providing assistance as needed.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities according to site and Allied Universal requirements.
  • Collaborate with other Allied Universal team members and local authorities during incidents and emergency situations to provide coordinated support.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Primarily driving post is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
