Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Cardholder Full-Time in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment through routine patrols and exceptional customer service, using your armed security experience to respond to incidents when needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by implementing security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, applying appropriate escalation protocols for government locations.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned areas, including buildings, facilities, and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behaviors, hazards, or security-related incidents encountered during patrols.
  • Support access control procedures and verify identification and/or credentials as required for entry to secured government locations.
  • Assist with incident documentation and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal management and client representatives as appropriate.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies, alarms, or other urgent situations that may arise within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
