Job Description


As a Security Professional - Academic Patrol Unarmed in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in an education-focused location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. You will play a key role in supporting a welcoming atmosphere, guided by Allied Universal's commitment to teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. What You'll Do:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including campus buildings and surrounding perimeter areas, to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or potential hazards in and around the educational environment.
  • Act as a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide support to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and site management as needed during incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Complete detailed, accurate incident and daily activity reports as required by Allied Universal and the site.
  • Maintain awareness of the surroundings and communicate professionally with all individuals encountered during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
