Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Patrol Specialist in East Saint Louis, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations to help create a secure environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you engage with staff and visitors, offering outstanding customer service and communication. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and respond to incidents as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Document observations and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter criminal activity and promote a secure environment for staff and visitors.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and/or granting access to authorized individuals.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts by participating in drills and responding to alarms or emergency calls according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
