Job Description


As a Security Professional - School Patrol Driver Full-Time in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your routine patrols and visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, requiring you to operate a vehicle as part of your patrols. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting in maintaining order and supporting the educational environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings and the perimeter of the location to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to observe for unusual or suspicious behavior, reporting concerns according to established protocols.
  • Offer assistance and guidance to students, staff, and visitors as needed, supporting a welcoming and orderly atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management, local law enforcement, and/or emergency personnel as required during incidents or emergencies on the property.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
