Job Description


As a Security Officer - Student Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a renowned educational location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a welcoming environment for all. Your visible presence and commitment to providing outstanding customer service will be essential in supporting a positive campus experience. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling while operating a vehicle as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or hazards in and around the location.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with campus personnel, students, and visitors while representing Allied Universal.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, and activities during the shift.
  • Remain alert and aware of surroundings to support a welcoming and secure environment for all individuals at the education location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
