Job Description


As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol Driving Role in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Professional at an education-focused location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure campus environment. Your presence and regular patrols will provide reassurance to students, staff, and visitors while delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating company vehicles as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the educational location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe for any potential issues.
  • Communicate with students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a professional manner while carrying out patrol duties.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control and monitor entry points to help to deter unauthorized access within the educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
