Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrols in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed officer at a vibrant retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a welcoming environment for visitors. Your responsibilities will include regular patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and delivering outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for vehicle patrol duties as you help to promote a secure atmosphere. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the retail or mall location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail or mall premises and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Assist with access control and observe for irregularities or unusual activity within the location.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity as observed during patrols.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, including guiding individuals to proper exits or assembly points when appropriate.
  • Communicate professionally with tenants, visitors, and/or employees, providing directions or information as requested.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel if situations arise at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • It is preferred that applicants possess a Guard Card or license.
  • It is preferred that applicants be able to operate a Segway or T3.
  • It is preferred that applicants are able to ride a bike for long periods of time.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
