Job Description


As a Security Guard - Campus Patrol Driver Required in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a positive environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your presence will be visible as you perform routine patrols, respond to situations, and deliver outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so you will operate a vehicle as part of your patrol responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to observe and report any irregularities or suspicious behavior.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Allied Universal management and location personnel regarding incidents or security-related matters as required.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and location protocols.
  • Support a positive and professional atmosphere through courteous interactions with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and provide proof as required by the client.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
